Testing Methodology: Website Checks and Package Limits

This page describes the work performed on this website build. It does not imply that WPD has passed a Windows compatibility test or an independent security assessment.

Website checks

The build is checked for HTML page metadata, local links and assets, canonical URLs, sitemap coverage, structured-data syntax, visible FAQ consistency, and the download handler. Server behavior is tested locally with the supplied Apache configuration; it must be rechecked on the actual hosting environment.

Download-file inspection

ZIP structure and CRCArchive opens and internal CRC checks pass.
File list and sizeFour archive entries; ZIP size is 342,794 bytes.
SHA-256Exact reference is published on the download page.
Executable metadataEmbedded file version 1.5.2042; inspection without execution.
Not performedWindows runtime tests, publisher-signature validation, malware-lab scanning, or current-build certification.

How a Windows runtime claim would need to be tested

  1. Record the Windows edition, build, architecture, WPD version, and starting setting.
  2. Apply one documented change on an authorized test device, then verify the Windows control and affected feature.
  3. Restart where required and check that the result persists.
  4. Reverse the change and document recovery, unexpected behavior, and the limits of the sample.

After publishing

HTTPS, hosting redirects, cache/CDN rules, actual crawler access, and page-performance measurements require the deployed URL. Indexing and AI citations are decisions made by search services, not test results that can be certified from a ZIP file.
