Compare Privacy Changes with a Before-and-After Log
To compare a privacy change fairly, use the same task before and after changing one setting. Keep configuration evidence separate from observed behavior and from broader privacy claims.

Use a single-change log
Save the before-and-after change log as TXT. It includes fields for the Windows build, tool version, setting, prior value, intended outcome, observation, and rollback.
- Perform the relevant task before changing anything and record whether it works.
- Capture the setting’s original value and the expected effect of the planned change.
- Change only that setting, then repeat the same task under comparable conditions.
- Restore the old value and repeat the task again when a failure needs confirmation.
Record an inconclusive result honestly
If a service was unavailable before the change, the later failure cannot by itself be attributed to the new setting. If several tools changed the same configuration, record that conflict instead of assigning credit to the most recent interface. “Not determined” is a useful result when it prevents a false conclusion.
Questions and answers
Does this site provide measured before-and-after telemetry results?
No. The worksheet is a method for recording your own tests; no Windows telemetry measurements are claimed for this build.
Why test rollback too?
A setting that cannot be returned to a known working state may have a higher practical cost than the initial result suggests.
